39 years Aliyah Anniversary

 Hi Everyone!

Today, August 29, is my English birthday.

My Hebrew birthday starts tonight - 13th of Elul - August 30.

August 30 is also my 39th Aliyah anniversary.

On August 30, 1984, I made aliyah from Brooklyn to Israel.

It was the best decision of my life. I highly recommend it!

You can view my aliyah anniversary video at:

https://jr.co.il/aliyah/aliyah-anniversary.htm

The page also includes a humorous and meaningful video,

by Rabbi Dovid Orlofsky, relating to why one should consider moving to Israel.

Worth watching!

This week, I added several humorous videos to my "They Spoke Hebrew" video page.

I also added a Youtube playlist of 78 funny Hebrew commercials.

https://jr.co.il/hebrew.htm

Enjoy!

May the aliyah from all over the world grow and

bring more Jews back to their homeland, Eretz Yisrael.

On my Hebrew birthday,

I wish everyone a healthy, sweet and good new year!

Ki Tetze - Weights and Measures - my parsha

 Hi Everyone!

Ki Tetze was my Bar Mitzvah Parsha.

During my high school years and college years,72-80, I lived at home

and attended the shul Ahavath Israel on East 29 and Avenue K in Brooklyn.

Rabbi Bernard L. Berzon z"l was the rabbi of the shul for 43 years.

Here is a short Dvar Torah from Rabbi Berzon z"l.

I worked at Intel Electronics in Jerusalem for 7 years

starting at the end of 1984. While going through many boxes of "stuff",

I found some very nostalgic Intel Israel related brochures, magazines,

and items. I posted them at:

https://jr.co.il/intel/

Last week, I posted the photos of new olim arriving in Israel.

I found on Youtube two videos of the olim arriving.

I posted the links at:

Last but not least, I added several items to my clever humor section

that should start your week with a smile:

Photos of the Lego Exhibition

 Hi Everyone!

This afternoon, I read a posting about a one day Lego exhibition

at Dcity in Mishor Adumim. Due to the heat, I was not planning to

go anywhere today but I gave it some thought and I decided to call

an air conditioned cab instead of taking 2 buses.

The exhibition was in the air conditioned food court.

Each exhibit was done by a Lego hobbyist.

It was great seeing the creative models that they built with the

same plastic pieces that I played with many, many years ago.

After I walked around the exhibits, I went outside the mall to see

the Shuk Ramle which comes to Dcity every Monday and Friday.

Walking around in a modern mall and then entering an old style

marketplace made me smile. Afterwards, I went back into the mall

to look at a sculpture exhibit. At the end of my walk, I paid a quick

visit to Max - a large discount store.

I took a cab home and I posted the photos at:

https://jr.co.il/ma/pic/2023/ma1534.htm

Enjoy the photos.

Please share. Thank You!

Have a good night,

Jacob
