Educational resources, videos, stickers and humor about Chanukah
Hi Everyone!
Chanukah, the Jewish Festival of Lights, is observed for
eight days, beginning on the evening of the 25th day of
the Hebrew month of Kislev. This year Chanukah starts
Sunday Evening, December 14, 2025.
Chanukah is a wonderful holiday of renewed dedication,
faith, hope and spiritual light. It's a holiday that says:
"Never lose hope." Chanukah commemorates the victory of a
small band of Maccabees over the pagan Syrian-Greeks who
ruled over Israel.
The Chanukah Page includes lesson sites in several languages,
videos, songs, Chanukah trivia quiz, English Hebrew vocabulary lists,
recipes, games, Whatsapp stickers, humor, photos, clipart, coloring pages and
a map of the sites of the Maccabees 166-161 BCE.
The address is:
https://jr.co.il/hotsites/chanukah.htm
The Chanukah Video Page has links to over 1,300 cool Chanukah videos:
https://jr.co.il/videos/chanukah-videos.htm
The video page will be updated as we get closer to Chanukah.
The Chanukah humor section has 131 items that will make you smile.
https://jr.co.il/humor/chanuka.htm
Enjoy!
Please share these holiday resources. Thank You!
Please continue to pray for and support Israel.
https://jr.co.il/prayers/
May the wounded have a complete and speedy recovery.
May God protect the IDF, the police, the security forces
and all of Am Yisrael.
Shavua Tov!
Have a good week!

New Whatsapp Channel: English and Hebrew Stickers
Hi Everyone!
For many years, people looking for Whatsapp stickers
have messaged me if I could send them stickers.
The messages increase before each holiday.
Five years ago, I created an app with 300 stickers.
https://jr.co.il/stickers/index.html
Tonight, I created a new Whatsapp channel for English and Hebrew stickers.
This channel will include stickers that go beyond my own app / stickers.
The postings, by me, will be for specific topics and will stay online for 30 days.
The first topic I just posted is "rain stickers".
Next week, b"h, I will post Thanksgiving and after that will be Chanukah.
You are welcome to join and invite friends.
https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VbCd5w78qJ02YMdE4G2Z
FYI:
Channels are distinct from your private chats and serve as
a one-way broadcast, not a conversation.
You can browse available channels by category and topic directly
within the WhatsApp "Updates" tab. The tab is located on
the bottom of your chat screen.
Channels you follow, like chats, take up storage on your phone.
The stickers are small but it can accumulate over years.
I have over 5,848 stickers on my phone taking 729 megs of storage.
I am a collector :-)
Just to compare, I have 110 videos on my phone taking
937 megs of storage. Why only 110? A few times a year
I move my videos off my phone to my computer.
Although the channels will only display the last 30 days
of posts, you may want to clear the channels you follow
every so often if you are tight on space.
Go to Settings > Storage and data > Manage storage.
Select a channel to see the amount of space it is using.
Tap and hold an item, then tap the trash icon to delete it.
This will remove the content from your phone.
Per Google, WhatsApp has surpassed 500 million monthly
active users on its channels since its launch.
Enjoy! Please share.
Please continue to pray for and support Israel.
https://jr.co.il/prayers/
May the wounded have a complete and speedy recovery.
May God protect the IDF, the police, the security forces
and all of Am Yisrael.
Have a good night!

Welcome to the New Olim, Aliyah Anniversary, Birthday, Train Ride
Hi Everyone!
This morning at 4am, I took a taxi to the airport.
It was expensive, but I had no other way to get
there and the event was worth the trip.
6 hours later, I took the train back to Jerusalem and
then a bus to Ma'ale Adumim.
BTW: This was my first ride on the Jerusalem / Tel-Aviv
electric train. It was very cool!!
Back to the airport.....
Today, 225 Olim from North America arrived at
Ben Gurion Airport aboard Nefesh B'Nefesh's
65th Charter Aliyah flight!
I was allowed to join the press and take photos right
outside the plane. It was fun, exciting and I think
the results came out pretty good. Check the photos at:
https://jr.co.il/aliyah/2025/a1090.htm
Next week is my Aliyah Anniversary.
I made aliyah 41 years ago - August 30, 1984
11 years ago, on my 30th annivserary,
I created a short Aliyah Anniversary video.
https://jr.co.il/aliyah/aliyah-anniversary.htm
The video continues to reflect how I feel about living in Israel.
It was the best decision of my life. I highly recommend it!
May the aliyah from all over the world grow and
bring more Jews back to their homeland, Eretz Yisrael.
Next week, is also my English birthday.
I get free Israel transportation starting August 29.
I did not sleep last night, so after I share the photos,
I hope to get some shuteye.
Please share the photos. Thank You!
Please continue to pray for and support Israel.
https://jr.co.il/prayers/
May the wounded have a complete and speedy recovery.
May the hostages be freed now.
May God protect the IDF, the police, the security forces
and all of Am Yisrael.
Have a good day / night!

Educational Resources about Tisha B'Av
Shalom.
Tisha B'Av is the saddest day on the Jewish calendar because
of the incredible series of tragedies which occurred on that
date throughout Jewish History.
Tisha B'Av means "the ninth of the Hebrew month of Av".
Tisha B'Av primarily commemorates the destruction of the first
and second Temples, both of which were destroyed on the ninth
of Av - the first by the Babylonians in 586 B.C.E.; the second
by the Romans in 70 C.E.
Although this day is primarily meant to commemorate the
destruction of the Temple, it is appropriate to consider on
this day the many other tragedies of the Jewish people, many
of which occurred on this day, most notably the expulsion of
the Jews from Spain in 1492.
This year 5785 - 2025 we observe the fast day of Tisha B'Av
starting from Saturday after nightfall, August 2,
until nightfall on Sunday, August 3.
You can learn more about this Jewish fast day at:
https://jr.co.il/hotsites/tisha-b-av.htm
May we see the rebuilding of the Temple in our days and that
Tisha B'Av becomes a day of celebration.
If you are fasting:
Have a meaningful fast.
Please share. Thank you!
Please continue to pray for and support Israel.

May the wounded have a complete and speedy recovery.
May the hostages be freed now.
May God protect the IDF, the police, the security forces
and all of Am Yisrael.
Have a good day.

Tips to Stay Safe During a Heat Wave
Hi Everyone!
Israel’s Health Ministry warned the public on Thursday to avoid
staying out in the sun for prolonged periods amid a "severe to extreme"
heatwave that was expected to last through Sunday.
“It is important to drink water frequently, regardless of activity level, and
to stay - as much as possible - in air-conditioned places,” the ministry stated,
also urging citizens to “avoid unnecessary physical exertion.”
The statement recommended that the elderly and people with chronic illnesses
avoid being outdoors altogether during the coming four days.
“Whenever outdoors, it is advised to wear a wide-brimmed hat, light and
comfortable clothing and apply sunscreen with a minimum sun protection
factor of 30,” the ministry added.
The Israel Meteorological Service, part of the Ministry of Transportation,
on Thursday morning warned of “unseasonably hot up to very hot and dry (sharav)
conditions in most regions,” in particular until Friday.
The highest temperatures were expected in the Jordan Valley, reaching
44.5 degrees Celsius/112.1 degrees Fahrenheit at noon on Thursday.
The heatwave was also expected to affect the Judean Foothills and Israel’s
coastal plain, where temperatures will reach up to 38 degrees Celsius /
100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, the service predicted.
In the nation’s capital, Jerusalem, the temperature was expected to rise to
34.2 degrees Celsius/93.56 degrees Fahrenheit at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Only along the immediate coastline will temperatures remain slightly
above 30 degrees Celsius/86 degrees Fahrenheit, the service stated.
Here are tips to stay safe during a heat wave,
including English and Hebrew heat wave safety posters
https://jr.co.il/heatwave.htm
Stay Cool!
Shabbat Shalom,

49th Anniversary of Mivtsa Yonatan, Happy Birthday America, Added 50 Riddles
Hi Everyone!
On June 27 1976, an Air France flight from Tel-Aviv to Paris via Athens
was hijacked and forced to land in Entebbe, Uganda.
The Jewish passengers were separated and held hostage in demand
to release many terrorists held in Israeli prisons.
After much debate, the Israeli government sent an elite commando unit
to raid the airfield and release the hostages. The commando unit, aircraft crews
and the rescued hostages landed in Israel on July 4, 1976. Yonatan Netanyahu,
the commander of the first aircraft’s Sayeret Matkal rescue unit, was shot and
killed while helping hostages return to the aircraft.
"Operation Entebbe" was later named "Operation Yonatan" in honor of
Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Netanyahu z"l.
The Hebrew yahrtzeit date of Lieutenant Colonel Yoni Netanyahu z"l is
the 6th day of Tammuz.
I created a page with images, newspaper headlines, videos
and articles about the historic Israeli rescue.

May the memory of Yoni Netanyahu be for a blessing,
In honor of the United States of America Independence Day,
